HexSwarm: Digital Edition

HexSwarm is a co-operative board game in which 1 to 4 players work together to survive a hostile alien planet.

(Note: There is currently no back button for the solo game or the multiplayer lobby, if you click the wrong one, please just refresh the page)

Before playing, please read all of the following information.

(If you just want to play solo/hotseat mode, you don't need to read this)

This build is a Technical Preview. The core game engine, multiplayer networking, and rules are fully functional, but the Lobby and UI are still in early development.

Please read the multiplayer instructions below carefully. The lobby requires specific steps to ensure a smooth launch.

📡 MULTIPLAYER INSTRUCTIONS (Read Before Deploying)

The multiplayer server is currently offline! I realized that the lobby system allowed people to just enter whatever text they wanted as a name, and since I'm not going to be here for a week to watch it, you sure as heck can understand why I'm not leaving it up.

The button is enabled because I'm not rebuilding and reuploading the game, and the server page mistakenly appears, but it is non-functional and won't work.

Multiplayer functionality may return at the start ofJanurary when i've returned from the trip.

HexSwarm has a physical edition which can be purchased, but you can also play the game on tabletop simulator via the workshop; if you're here, you're probably familiar with it already.

If you aren't, here are a couple of links for you to familiarize yourself.

Known Issues

1. If you click any of the force draw tiles, you *will* break the game state, clicker beware.

2. There is no save system at this time, you cannot pause and resume.

3. If you hit undo while you are in a selection mode (build, power, upgrade, etc), you may get stuck in a state where you can't exit the mode. almost all modes should allow you to right click to exit which should un-softlock you, please try that if you find yourself stuck.

4. UI Clipping - I don't know what causes this, but apparently it's possible for the UI scale to be incorrect and you will have buttons off to the side. If this happens, try using the full screen button provided by twitch. I'll be investigating when I get home from vacation. If you run into this issue, please report it in the google form below with the following information: (Browser, Page Zoom Level, Operating System, Screen Resolution)

4a. The itch.io frame is set to a static size of 1280 x 800, please make sure you can support that as a resolution

4b. The UI does not currently dynamicly resize once you have left the main menu, if you want to play in full screen, please enable the full screen before you launch the game. If you have the clipping issue mentioned earlier, try launching the game without full screen, then see if you can play when it's full screen.

5. Any other bugs, please report with the forms.

I appreciate all bug reports!
